John Croll Chief Executive Officer

John Croll has been involved in the media monitoring industry since 1981 and is recognised internationally as a leading authority on media intelligence. Having worked in all facets of the industry, holding senior roles in a number of monitoring companies, including Croll Communications, John was appointed CEO of Media Monitors in 1999. John is in demand as a guest speaker in Australia and internationally, particularly in the area of new media and its impact on corporate and government communication strategy. He is also highly respected and recognised within the international media monitoring community through his long association as a key member of FIBEP (Federation Internationale des Bureaux d’Extraits de Presse) and his ongoing work as the industry representative in negotiating copyright agreements in the press and broadcast mediums. John is a director of the Australian Science Media Centre and a member of the Marketing Commission of the Australian Paralympic Committee. |
Neil Duncan (CPA, MBA) Chief Financial Officer

Neil Duncan has 15 years experience as an executive in the media and publishing sectors. His experience has been mainly in growing companies, and Neil has developed considerable expertise in change management through a constant need to re-engineer and restructure to accommodate expansion. As well as managing finance, Neil has managed multi-faceted teams including human resources, IT and Finance staff. After several years in Europe and the UK, Neil has returned to live permanently in Australia. |
Brendan Swale (B.Arts, Grad Dip Bus Comm) Group Products Director

Brendan Swale has 11 years experience in the media monitoring and research industry, in New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Australia. He was Research Manager for Sponsorship Information Services in both the UK and Australia and then General Manager of Media Monitors Australia’s Analysis division, before being appointed General Manager of Media Monitors operations in New Zealand following the acquisition of Media Search, now part of Media Monitors. In 2008, Brendan returned to Sydney to take up the position of Group Research Director. He has a degree in political studies and economics from the University of Auckland and a post-graduate diploma of business in communication management from Massey University and represents Media Monitors and CARMA Asia Pacific in its membership of the Association for Measurement and Evaluation of Communication (AMEC) in the UK.In 2008, Brendan was appointed Group Product Development Director to lead a team of people responsible for better aligning our back-end content and relevance systems with the front-end product development process.

Gregg Amies (Grad Dip App M) General Manager – Australia & New Zealand

Gregg Amies has extensive leadership, sales and monitoring industry experience, previously holding senior management positions in corporate investment, retail and media companies. Prior to his business career, Gregg served as a commissioned officer in the Australian Army. Joining Media Monitors in August 2001, Gregg has held a number of senior positions including Business Development Manager and State Manager Victoria/Tasmania. In 2006, he was seconded as General Manager - Rehame, responsible for the integration of this major acquisition. He was subsequently appointed Group Sales and Marketing Manager. He became General Manager Australia & New Zealand in July 2007. Gregg works out of the Group’s Melbourne office. |
Cameron Buckley General Manager - South East Asia Asia Media Monitors Sdn Bhd

Cameron has 14 years experience working for market leading media services companies with significant international expertise having worked in Australia, Europe and Asia. He has held senior management positions spanning Marketing, Insights and Analysis in that time. His experience also covers building and managing large Sales and Operations teams Cameron holds a Bachelor of Business from Swinburne Institute of Technology majoring in Economics and Marketing, and an Advanced Diploma in Direct and Interactive Marketing from the Institute of Direct Marketing in the UK. |
Jarrod P Smith General Manager – Greater China

Jarrod Smith has extensive leadership, sales and strategic management experience holding senior management positions in Media Monitors and some of New Zealand’s largest corporate organisations. Jarrod currently leads Media Monitors business across Greater China, which includes China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau. In mainland China, Media Monitors operates under the Sinofile Information Consulting Limited brand, with over 120 staff based in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen. Before taking up the role as General Manager for Greater China, Jarrod was the Country Manager for Media Monitors New Zealand, based in the head office in Wellington. Prior to joining Media Monitors, Jarrod held the position of National Sales Support Manager at Insurance Australia Group (IAG) NZ. |
Amanda Tober (B.Bus and MBA) Group Human Resources Director

Amanda is responsible for managing human resources, organisational effectiveness, and internal communication to ensure Media Monitors has a motivated, innovative, empowered and accountable team who assist in the achievement of our business objectives. Amanda has over 12 years experience in human resources, and has managed HR functions across the Asia Pacific region in both multi-national and ASX listed companies, including Graincorp, BMC Software, Philips and Boral. Amanda has a business degree and an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management. |
Joe De Battista (B.Eng Hons) Chief Information Officer

With over 22 years in senior management roles in ICT, Joe De Battista has strong technical, governance and commercial experience. Over this time he has developed key strengths change management, strategy, finance and relationship management. Joe held several positions with the SGS Group (a global testing and verification organisation) in Australia during the early 90s, progressing to SGS Australasia and then a global role with SGS Group Management in Geneva. |
William Eeg Executive Officer

In his role as Executive Officer, Will provides executive support to John Croll, concentrating on business improvements in line with the company's strategic objectives. Will has a wealth of knowledge and experience, having worked in senior roles for at News Limited for 27 years, including eight years as Divisional Managing Director of Festival Records Group, an Australian company with offices in New Zealand and the UK. Will also served as a Director of Mushroom Records, and represented News Limited on the boards of a number of external companies and industry bodies. |
